Daffodils to Thistle Down
Paperback with book cover. $7.99
Thirty-four poems and thoughts with four sketches.
On a humid September afternoon, Marlene Harris stepped from the near-claustrophobic interor of a travel-cluttered car, to the near-claustrophobic surroundings of the over-spreading city of Boston. An Idaho "farm girl", she knew no one, had no job, no apartment, only the strong feelng that life had directed her to this place. The next day she met the man she would marry two years later, and with whom she would begin her ong dreamed of family. But her euphoric visions were momentary. Of their firstborn, twins, their son lived only three days and their daughter remined hospitalized for nearly a year.
These poems are a response to those events--to growing ove, to self-understanding, to death--to life.
